My name is Nieta Gates. It took a while, but something clicked last year. 2006 got a breast reduction, and realized I had a stomach. Went to Weight Watchers, lost 60.lbs. Married in 2008, kid in 2010. 2013, son was diagnosed w/ASD. I began living like nothing mattered other than “fixing” him. His diagnosis became my obsession. I let myself go. Ate/drank whatever, going to work like “As long as I show up.” All but 13 lbs. of the weight came back. Life is way too short and I was obsessing over my son’s condition, something I have NO control over. Went back to “exercising” (Cardio) and clean eating. Lost 30, but still wasn’t where I wanted to be. Got a new job where office food is the norm. Gained 28 of it back. My husband proposed a low-carb diet. My first reaction was “I don’t eat a lot of carbs.” I started really analyzing what I eat. I was eating clean, but you can still have too much of a good thing. Brown rice/wheat pasta/FRUIT, omg my fruit intake was crazy. Lost 5 lbs. the first week. Then everything just clicked. Began doing Body Beast and loads of research on macros, carb intake, and eating for your body type. Started my page @simplycleancheating (shameless plug). So here’s my “current,” not “after” pic, because it’s for life, it doesn’t end. 48 lbs. down and only getting better.
